Welcome to Horetown House

Horetown House is first and foremost an exclusive, luxury wedding venue. When we are not busy preparing for our private bespoke weddings, we welcome residents to stay in any of our 10 unique bedrooms with Bed & Breakfast rates available on request. For non residents we have recently opened the 1692 Bar, our traditional pub in the original wine cellar of the house, we also serve dinner on Saturday nights in The Dining Room at Horetown House.

Horetown House is a small luxury hotel, we don’t have a swimming pool or golf course, we don’t have a huge team of staff, we don’t have hundreds of bedrooms. Horetown was never built to be a hotel, it is a family home from a bygone age, updated and refurbished, and now it can be your home for as long as you wish to stay.

We have egyptian cotton sheets, hand cut Tara crystal chandeliers, soft deep Brintons carpets and antiques in every corner. We serve tea and coffee in the Drawing rooms, we have a traditional bar in the cellar where you can relax in front of the open fire, and if you are in need of some extra relaxation, our local beautician is on call for house visits so relax and let us take care of everything.

Head down to the 1692 Bar in the cellar and meet Tom behind the bar, his wife, Bernie could be in the drawing rooms or The Dining Room and Kate, his sister is usually at the desk in the entrance hall or in the marquee getting ready for a wedding. Horetown House is a family business and prides itself on being different to most modern hotels, offering gourmet bar food, elegant dining and tailor made bespoke weddings. 1692 Bar

The 1692 Bar is now open in our cellar, the lights are on and the fire is lit, we have a good selection of draught and bottles as well as our extensive wine list, and if there is anything we are missing, let us know and we will track it down. We serve a gourmet bar menu including delicious soups, pastas and light bites, as well as delicious steak sandwiches and our ever popular battered fish served with mushy peas and hand cut fresh chips. So if you want to call in for a quiet pint beside the fire, a bite to eat or a lively trad session, come to the side door and tip in to the 1692 Bar.

The bar opens Thursday through to Sunday and our menu is available from 5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Check out our facebook page to see who will be playing on Saturday night or come along any Sunday for our usual trad session, musicians always welcome.
