Horetown House is a unique wedding venue in Co. Wexford.   It is a family run House and, therefore, from the first inquiry to the wedding day, each  and every couple receives a very personal service.

What do we have to offer that is unique?

 Horetown  House was built in the 1600’s and is steeped in history.  It has been restored to it’s former splendour and is now a luxurious, comfortable home.  Brides and Grooms can have their wedding here and it really feels like a home rather than a hotel.  It bears no resemblance to the Function Room style wedding so if you want something completely different, Horetown House is the place to come.

The House is like a home and that feeling prevails from the moment you come through the door.  We don’t have systems in place like large hotels, but nonetheless, the staff know exactly how to look after their guests.  Nothing is too much trouble and if it is possible, we will do it.  We have done things like, steadying the nerves of a nervous groom, loaned a Sat Nav to a bestman who didn’t know how to get to the church, put together 3 boquets of flowers for mother, mother in law and granny, which the groom forgot to organise, this was done when the meal was in progress.

We do everything we can to make each guest feel at home and “minded” from the start of their visit until they leave.  They all say they want to come back and some of them do.

The fact that the house can be private on the day of the wedding and even the day before and the day after is required is a major attraction for many couples.  Another attraction is that if the wedding is small, we cater for any number, less than 20 or up to 100 in the house, they don’t feel lost in a vast space.  We can set up the wedding meal in the private dining room, which holds 30 guests and allocate a drawing room across the hall for the group also, if they don’t want to book out the whole house.So a wedding of 80 or 90 guests fits very well into the house.  We have also noticed that the guests are enthralled by the house when they arrive.  The bride & groom have obviously visited the house a few times before the big day, but for many of the guests, this is their first time in the house. We have guests going from bedroom to bedroom amazed at the fact that they are all individually decorated.   We constantly hear our bridal guests saying: “come and see my room, it’s amazing”.

Then when they go down to The Cellar for the meal, they are amazed once again because it is such a contrast to the upstairs of the house.  People have said to me “we are totally surprised by this, we weren’t expecting it to be so fabulous, the whole house is amazing”.

The other option for the larger is our traditional pole tent.  Step back in time again in this vintage style tent, but it does have all the modern comforts that you would expect.  This is a new addition to the Horetown House Wedding for 2011 and we expect to be very successful as up to now we have been unable to cater for the larger wedding.  Please contact info@Horetownhouse.ie for further details of marquee weddings.
